Another Coleyism

Last night the kids were getting ready for AWANA and reciting their memory verses! I was so proud of Cole because he had his first one memorized. I said "Hey Cole what's your memory verse" He said..."God loved us and sent his son John and Kate plus 8" LOLOL, for those of you who don't know, John and Kate Plus Eight is one of our family's favorite TV shows. So the reference for that verse was supposed to be 1st John 4:10. We were cracking up all the way to AWANA! He must have said it right there, because he got his verse signed off! LOL That kid says some of the funniest things!

Goodbye Summer, Hello Fall

I can't believe this summer has been here and gone already! We are officially closing the pool today, the kids got one more swim in last week and are sad to see it go, but it's just too cold to swim already! Here are some pictures of the kids over the last few weeks. Life is settling down around here and everyone is finding their new place in the family! I think Joey is enjoying being a big brother! He loves his baby and kisses him all the time! Cole is still a little confused that Eli is a boy, well actually I think he just has his him and hers messed up. He is always saying "can I hold her" and I say "you mean can you hold him" so then he says "can I hold the he!" LOL It's pretty funny! Last night Cole said Can I hold the he when he is done milking! HEE HEE HEE!! That kid is a crack up! Gracie is at school all day which seems like forever to us, so she gets her cuddles in in the morning and as soon as she gets home! Life with four kids sure is crazy, but I wouldn't trade it for the world! Here come's trouble!

Where does time go?

A week ago I was wishing the time away. I was ready to have a baby, now that he is here I want time to stop. I can't believe Eli is a week old already. I wish I could just put all my kids in a little shoe box so they would stop growing! It's amazing how time flies!

Worlds Greatest Sister

I was wandering around my house this morning thinking of the wonderful thing that my sister Emily did for me over the last week. She was "on call" for the baby to come at any time, did not hesitate to jump back in her car after just getting home waking Avery up and bringing her with her to run down here only to find that it was a false alarm. She stayed over night "just in case" and spent the next day with us here. The next night it really did happen and she was here for me and my kids with out question. I know she wanted to be at the hospital when Elijah was born, but she sacrificed her desires for mine. I cannot express the gratitude that I feel for her right now. I am so very very blessed to have her in my life. She ran my kids around, cooked for them, cleaned up after them, never complaining at all. She is 20 weeks pregnant and I'm sure she was exhausted, but she never ever complained. Thank you so much Emily for the wonderful sister and aunt that you are to me and my kids. And thank you Chad for sacrificing your wife and daughter to us, I know it makes it hard on you to not have them there with you. We all love you so much, and I hope you know that I would do the same for you in a heartbeat!

Welcome to our Crazy life baby Elijah!

A few short days before you entered our life!

He's here! Elijah Scott Isley born 9/9/08 on his Great Grandpa Shaffer's birthday! Weighing in at a whopping 9# 12 oz (just give me credit for 10!) and 20 1/2 inches long! He looks like his brothers and sister! Blonder at birth than they all were, but the same in the face! Cute as a button I must say! I'm so glad to be home with him. He had a little trouble at first with low blood sugars, which is pretty normal with a large baby, and the cord was around his neck so he was pretty blue for a while, but all is well now! I can't believe even after four babies what a miracle each one is. God is so good! He is peeking at me now with his big blue eyes so I'm going to make this short! Thank you all for your prayers for me and Elijah! We sure could feel them. Here are a few pictures, and I'm sure I will be updating them often!

The Waiting Game

So I'm not officially due until next Friday, six days away, but I am so anxious to have this baby. I know having a baby in my arms will be more work for me, but I am so so so anxious to meet this little one and hold him/her in my arms. My kids are anxious, everyone is anxious. As I got up this morning and really felt great, which is unusual for me lately I was watching the kids play and thought wow, I'm really blessed with great kids! Here are some pictures I took this morning of the little munchkins that now rule the house! Can't wait until there are 4!

The baby for now, but not for long!

The boys! Do you think there will be one more?

The princess of the house now, who desperately wants a sister! I wonder if she will get one?

The three little monkeys soon to be 4!

Get together!

This weekend my cousins came down to visit with their four kids, so my family and I got together for a BBQ at Nana's house! Between my brother, me, my sister and my cousin and of course Charlie, there were 12 kids between the ages of 8 and 1. It was pretty fun for all of the kids to be able to play together, and the weather was perfect for some outdoor fun! I think a fun time was had by everyone!

Uncle Boog is the greatest! He lets the kids jump all over him and even joins in the fun himself sometimes! Joey though it was great loading rocks into the dump truck with him. Yes that's Brian under the pile of kids!

Joey, Avery and Sarah had a good time together! Joey learned the word "MINE" and he used it often, but all in all I think they had a good time! They were all very very grubby by the end of the day!

The slip and slide was a big hit! Even the little one's got in on the action! On our way down to Nana's house we stopped off to see Mike at work. Cole was very excited when Mike came out and was able to take him in to see where he worked and what he was doing! While they were in the plant taking a tour, Gracie was singing songs to me. Here is one that I captured on my camera! She likes to make up her own songs! What a goof ball that one is!
